Event Description

The Vollmer Peak Vertical Challenge brings you to the hills of Berkeley’s Tilden Park to tackle the East Bay’s ridgeline like you never have before. The sweeping views along this 10 mile journey might just take your mind off your squealing lungs as you bag the last peak in Scena Performance’s 2016 Vertical Challenge Series, with panoramic sightings of the Bay, the San Pablo Reservoir, Mount Tam and Mount Diablo rewarding you for the rugged 3,000 feet you will climb.

This challenging traverse of the East Bay’s backbone will have your heart pounding as you master the course along Tilden’s long grinding trails. In addition to well-earned bragging rights and mind-blowing views, runners of the Vollmer Peak Vertical Challenge will be treated to post race recovery snacks and our soon-to-be-famous chocolate milk on the expansive lawn of Lake Anza as a relaxing ending to an ambitious day.
