The Kraken has been released—and it’s calling you to the coast.
Take on a fast, scenic beachfront course at Release the Kraken, featuring distances for everyone from casual 5K runners to athletes ready to conquer 30 miles.
The 18-mile and 50K races begin at 6:30 AM and follow a six-mile loop from the start, down the beach path to Gaucho Beach at Alamitos Beach, and back.
18 Mile: Three 6-mile loops 50K: Five 6-mile loops plus One 1.07 out and back Time limit: Six hours Course closes: 12:30 PM All 18-mile and 50K participants must complete their distance within the six-hour course limit.
The 5K and 10K begin at 8:00 AM, bringing even more runners—and more energy—to the beachfront course.

Participants in the 18-mile and 30-mile distances should be prepared to maintain the pace required to finish by noon.
