Early Packet Pick-Up for the 2018 Hoppin' Half:

Thursday, March 29, 2018 - 4-7pm // Runners Roost Stapleton // 7308 E. 35th Ave., Denver, CO 80238

Strollers are welcome, but please be advised that the distances of 10K and longer do have some dirt trail and there is one hill in particular at about mile 4.75 that is a bit gnarly.  We've had stroller participants on it before without incident, but definitely something to be aware of.

Dogs are also welcome with the usual rules; leashed, cleaned up after by their pet human and, without question, absolutely friendly and comfortable in crowded spaces with a lot of distractions!

Course:  Here is a rough breakdown of the course concrete/dirt trail ratio - please go to the bottom of this page for course maps.  You can click through for elevation, etc.  The 10K/10M & HM share the same course with varying turn-around points along Sand Creek Trail.

Concrete Trail          Dirt Trail

1 Mile        100%                      N/A

5K              100%                      N/A

10K            75%                         25%

10M           55%                         45%

HM            65%                         35%

The Hoppin' Half is in it's 4th year at Central Park in Stapleton and now consists of a race distance for everyone!  Spring into action on March 31st with a 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 10M or Half Marathon and bring the kids along for the Kid's Cottontail Fun Run!

With the exception of the fun run, there will be finisher medals for all participants.  There will be awards medals for Overall Male and Female winners and age-group medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for age-group divisions (10 year increments).  Participants will also be able to compete for a 'Double' finisher's medal (see below).

Easter being the floating holiday it is, the Hoppin' Half will be 2 weeks earlier than it was last year, and about a week-and-a-half after the spring equinox (March 20th) and the beginning of daylight savings time, which begins on March 11th.  So everyone will have a couple of weeks to get adjusted and be ready for an earlier race start!

START TIMES:

7 am –  1 Mile and 5K DOUBLES -  *** the 7am 1 Mile/5K start time is for DOUBLE participants doing 7am 1 Mile or 5K AND 8am 10K/10M/HM

7:30 am –  Kid’s Cottontail Fun Run

8 am –  1M/5K/10K/10M/Half Marathon - *** the 8am 1 Mile/5K start time is for participants doing ONLY the 1 Mile or 5K – If you are doing a DOUBLE (1M or 5K PLUS a 10K, 10M or Half Marathon, your 1M/5K start time is at 7am)

Participants who register for the early (7am) 1 Mile or 5K can earn the Double Medal by registering for and completing the 1 Mile or 5K race and also registering for and completing the Half Marathon, 10 Mile or 10K.  Double registrants will need to register before March 1st.
