Event Description
California Swim Run introduced the exciting sport of SwimRun to Southern California on March 6th, 2016 with a 12k sprint challenge. Inspired by the Swedish sport that is sweeping the world, SwimRun is a challenging race with mixed-surface running and refreshing open water swimming.
You will race in teams of two and you need to stay together during all portions of the race both from a safety
perspective and, because it's more competitive. Your registration is for a team of two in one of three categories:
Mixed
Female
Male
The top finishers in each category will receive an award and all finishers will receive a finisher's medal and a California Swim Run t-shirt. You will start and finish the race with all of your swim gear...run and swim in your shoes and wetsuit (wetsuits are optional). There are seven swims and eight run portions, check out the diagram below.
If you have what it takes, the California SwimRun race series is the gateway into the world of adventure racing and multi-sport competitions. These SwimRun races will prepare you to compete in international SwimRun qualifier races and ultimately, the ÖTILLÖ SwimRun World Championship: otilloswimrun.com, in Sweden!
