“We look forward to engaging the community in this walk to support the children, young
adults and their families affected by Autism,” said Sandra Worth, My Autism Connection
Executive Director. “Autism has become more prevalent, over the last few years as more and more children are diagnosed".
We are helping our community, one individual at a time, by helping them realize they have the ability
to learn skills towards independence.”
Before, after and during the walk, attendees, friends, and families can enjoy entertainment, food
trucks, activities and vendor booths featuring services, games, workshops and more. The Lee
County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand for fingerprinting. A wide range of raffle prizes will be
available, including sporting event tickets, local destination passes, gift cards and more. All
funds raised through the event will be used locally to support the families and children of My

My Autism Connection (MAC) was started in 2011 to fill a need for individuals with Asperger’s and high-functioning
autism and their families. The organization has been very successful at building friendships
through social interaction and helping develop skills that promote productivity, employment, and
independence within the community. Our members have learned how to care for the own vehicles,
manage budgets, cook and interact with the public. Through collaboration with federal and state
agencies, the organization strives to grow and broaden not only the skills of our membership but the
awareness of the nation. For more information please check out our Facebook page for My Autism
Connection and our website at www.myautismconnection.net.
