Event Description

This is the 40th Annual Valley of the Flowers Half-Marathon & 5K Run/Walk, held at La Purisima Mission State Park on a scenic off-road course.   It is one of the few missions in California that have been fully restored facilities  and docents working the shops & grounds dressed in historic era clothing.  Both events start at 8 AM on Saturday, June 4th, 2016.  The Half-Marathon course is hilly, mostly dirt with sections of sand and pavement. The 5K course is slightly hilly.  Every mile and turn is marked. Entry includes post-race refreshments, chicken BBQ, entry fee to State Park, jersey and finishers medal for Half-Marathons (T-shirts for 5K).  Extra BBQ meals available for purchase.

Event details and schedule

Packet pick-up & event registraion starts at 7 AM on race day, Saturday, June 4th, 2016 in front of the visitor center, which is adjacent to the parking lot at La Purisima Mission. Both the Half-Marathon & 5K starts at 8 AM and the course is closed at noon.
