Event Description

IRONMAN 70.3 FLORIDA
Lake Eva Park, Haines City, Florida

With its tranquil lake, Florida’s Lake Eva Park plays host to the perfect family-friendly triathlon.

About This Race

Its three-loop course makes it one of the best races on the 70.3 circuit for spectators, who have multiple chances to cheer on their loved ones, all while enjoying two playgrounds, water slides, a kiddie pool, food vendors and the IRONMAN village.

For athletes, IRONMAN 70.3 Florida is a popular early-season race, whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned pro getting your legs ready for the year ahead. Expect a beach start, glassy freshwater lake swim, moderately hilly bike course past orange groves and through downtown, and an energetic three-loop run.

SWIM
The swim start is located on a white sand beach next to the Lake Eva Park. It will be an age group wave start (wave start times will be posted at Athlete Check-In). The water is expected to be 80 degrees F on race day, so do not expect to wear a wetsuit.

BIKE
The bike course will travel through eastern Polk County on rural roads. Aid Stations will be at 18 miles, 30 miles and 42 miles. It is an open course with local traffic sharing the roadway, please stay alert. Polk County support and race volunteers will be located on the bike course to help keep you safe. You will travel through residential and country roads passing orange groves, lakes and golf courses. Keep your head up as the course is very fast with only a few gently rolling hills. You will bring your bike back to the same bike rack in the transition.

Intermediate Cut-Off: 11:45AM at Aid Station #2 (Mile 33)
Intermediate Cut-Off: 12:30PM at Aid Station #3 (Mile 43)
Bike Course Cut-Off: 1:35PM bike dismount line (Mile 56)

RUN
The 13.1-mile run is a 3-loop course that will take place on paved trails and roads around Lake Eva. Aid stations will be located approximately every mile. Spectators and family members will be able to see athletes on each loop of the course as they pass the transition area at Lake Eva Park. The finish line will be right next to the Bandshell at Lake Eva Park.

Intermediate Cut-Off: Start of 3rd Loop - 3:30 PM
Finish Line Cut-Off: 4:35 PM
