Event Description

The Whidbey Island Marathon is the island's crown jewel of athletic events. The marathon and surrounding events attract over 2,000 running enthusiasts each year to participate in the full marathon (26.2 miles) 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles), 10K and 5K events. The marathon weekend showcases some of Washington's most beautiful viewpoints along course, including the famed Deception Pass Bridge, picturesque ocean views, tranquil farmland and waterfront coastlines. This is a destination race on top of all runners' bucket lists.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Each year, over 250 volunteers are needed for us to help produce this world-class event. Volunteers are needed throughout race weekend (race date Sunday, April 22) to help race participants realize their dreams. Everything from packet pickup/registration volunteers, start/finish line volunteers, course monitors and water station volunteers are needed.

The City of Oak Harbor is searching for individuals, businesses, school groups and military personnel to help us show off one of the City's crown jewels. All volunteers will receive recognition via community service hours, military completion/thank you letters, business logos on our event website and more.

Please consider donating some of your time this April to help the city showcase this exciting event!
