Event Description

The Mendocino Monster Century Bicycle Ride, is happening on June 10, 2018. There are four rides this year – the Scary Monster is 104.58 miles (155.9 kilometers) and includes approximately 8,800 feet of climbing – the Hairy Monster is 62 miles (100 kilometers) and includes 8,150 feet of climbing – the Merry Monster is a 27 mile ride that will go from Talmage down to Hopland and back to Talmage, with only 125 feet of vertical.

The long rides depart from and finish at Mendocino College, just to the north of Ukiah in Mendocino County, California. Both the Scary Monster and the Hairy Monster take you over quiet country roads and include challenging ridge top climbs with stunning panoramas of Mendocino County as well as travelling through beautiful redwood groves and pastoral farmland. The Merry Monster is a beautiful easy ride that goes through rural countryside with vineyard and river views and peaceful farmlands.

These are really well organized rides with outstanding rest stops, great food, full SAG vehicle support and a great barbecue meal at the end of the ride. If you're up for the challenge, please sign up.

This is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Ukiah. We will be using the proceeds from this event for local scholarships for students, community projects like repairing park playground equipment and creating local parks, and international projects like polio eradication and water projects in India.
