Course

March Triathlon Series is held at Lopez Lake on the beautiful central coast of California.

Swim (1.5km)-

The swim starts at the boat ramp with participants in waist-deep water. Expect the water temperature to be in the low-mid 60 degree Fahrenheit range. The swim proceeds clockwise, keep all buoys on your right hand side.

Bike (24.8mi)-

The bike course takes athletes out of Lake Lopez Park to the first turnaround (mile 6) where athletes then head back the way they came to High Mountain Rd. A second turnaround is located at (miles 17). There are a few short climbs on the course including a half mile 400 vertical foot climb.

Run (6.2mi)-

The run is mostly paved, with slightly over a mile of dirt trails.

March Triathlon Series (MTS) also serves as the Collegiate championship race for the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference hosted by the Cal Poly Triathlon Team. The race atmosphere is exciting and energized with a mix of college students and age-groupers alike. All proceeds go towards helping the Cal Poly Triathlon team make the sport of triathlon affordable and accessible for its members.

This race is USAT sanctioned and will follow all USAT rules and regulations.

Prizes will be presented to the top three males and females in each of the following age groups:

Location

March Triathlon Series is located at Lopez Lake (Address: 6800 Lopez Drive, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420). Located about 10 miles inland of Highway 101 from Arroyo Grande or about 15 miles from the city of San Luis Obispo.

From San Luis Obispo:

-Head south on Johnson Ave.

-Make a slight left onto Orcutt Rd.

-Turn left at the stop sign to continue on Orcutt Rd.

-Continue on Orcutt for 8mi (~20mins)

-Turn left at T intersection onto Lopez Dr.

-Continue on Lopez Dr. into Lopez Lake Park

Accommodations
