Event Description

Discount price extended until June 30!

Join us in celebrating a fuller use of the agricultural bounty in our community! All funds earned will be used by Salem Harvest to gather fresh produce from area farms and backyards that would go to waste and make it available for hungry families in the Willamette Valley. The food we harvest would be left in the fields to rot unless we save it by working quickly. These fruits and vegetables are perfectly tasty and healthy but not usable by the grower. So Salem Harvest and our volunteers Race to the fields to Save the Harvest and get this unused resource into the community.

Besides the fun run, local businesses, non-profits and government agencies will be sharing information and kid friendly activities around the the themes of reducing hunger, eating healthy and not wasting food. Booths will be open from 8:00am - 11:30am. Ima Blueberry may even be making an appearance!

Your registration includes an event t-shirt and the opportunity to help reduce food waste and hunger. The run will begin at the Pavilion in Salem’s Riverfront Park, cross the Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge and finish back in Riverfront Park. Fresh, healthy post-race snacks and drinks will be provided for all participants.

Round up the family, choose a distance, and come out for the fun!
