TRIATHLON DETAILS

How does the swim work?: The swim will be 15 minutes. Each participant will have their own lane. The participant will receive credit for each full lap completed. If the time is up and the participant is halfway between completing a lap, the yardage will be calculated for that lap. At 14 minutes into the swim segment, a 1-minute left announcement is made.

How does the bike work?: The bike duration will be 15 minutes. Participants will have 15 minutes to cycle as they are capable. At 14 minutes into the bike segment, a 1-minute left announcement is made. Participants will be advised to not stop abruptly to avoid injury.

How does the run work?: This will be a 15-minute duration. Participants can step onto the treadmill and adjust the speed, although they can't hit the start button until time is started. During the run, participants can't step off the running belt while distanced is accumulating. If this happens, 10 seconds will be added to each time this occurs. Participants can press pause and then step on the side if a break is needed.

How do the transitions work?: All transitions are 5 minutes and there will be individuals to guide them to the next segment (bike and treadmill). During this time, all participants will be able to change (shoes, clothes, etc.) to prep for next segment. Participants will be able to organize all of their race material prior to starting their heat.

What if a participant takes more than 5 minutes to get ready for the next segment?: If a participant is late, they can still proceed to start on the next segment, although this will work against the athlete's ability to maximize their overall distance.

How are race results tabulated?: An athlete's race result is the sum of the distances they accumulate in each segment. For example, a participant completes .341 miles in the swim, 5.5 miles on the bike and 2.25 miles in the run, their total distance is 8.091 miles. The highest distance completed will be the top finisher.

When will awards be distributed?: T-shirts and finisher medals will be distributed upon completion of the race.
