Event Description
New Deferral Policy for 2018: There are NO refunds or transfers. However, we understand that things happen and we want you to have the opportunity to enjoy our events. For those who have registered but cannot participate this year, we will grant you the ability to defer your Marathon or Half Marathon registration to 2019. Deferral requests must be submitted by September 1st, 2018. If you miss this deadline, consider your registration a donation to the Bozeman Hawks XC team. There will be no deferrals or refunds for the Bozeman 5k.
The cost to defer your registration to 2019 is $20.
Participants are allowed to make a single year deferral per entry. Deferring for multiple years is not permitted.
Fire/Smoke Policy: The Bozeman Marathon and Half Marathon will follow the Montana Department of Environmental Quality measurements to make decisions regarding race day. While Montana does have a fire season, Bozeman is usually rather fortunate in that air quality is usually not comprised, thanks to our higher elevation and proximity to active fires (fires are generally in the far west of the state). However, if air quality reaches the unhealthy level, race officials reserve the right to cancel the event. Previous years we have mostly been in the moderate range.
Bozeman Marathon and Half Marathon Race Details
Join us for the 2018 Marathon and Half Marathon! The race courses run through beautiful Gallatin Valley crossing over rivers and running by farms with the Bridger Mountain range in the background. The end of the race will finish on historic Main Street in Bozeman, Montana. Refreshments and awards will take place at the finish area at the conclusion of the race. The Bozeman Marathon is also a Boston Marathon qualifier!

Registration: Registration is online-only and can be accessed by clicking the button above, or at runsignup.com. There is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. We encourage you to sign up early.

Start Times:
Full Marathon & Relay: 7 AM
Half Marathon: 8 AM
Cut Off Times: You will have 6.5 hours to complete the race. Streets will begin to open back up at 1:30 PM.

Aid Stations: Aid stations are plentiful along all courses, occuring every 2-3 miles on the Half Marathon, Marathon, and Relay course. The maximum distance between aid stations at any point is 3 miles. Aid stations will be stocked with water and Gatorade. Select stations will have Hammer gel.
Shuttle Bus Times: ALL RUNNERS MUST TAKE THE BUSES TO THE START OF BOTH RACES. THE CITY HAS ENSURED US THAT TOW TRUCKS WILL BE TOWING ANY AND ALL CARS PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR ALONG THE COURSE.
*Buses will shuttle marathon and half marathon participants from downtown Bozeman (in front of Bozeman Running Company at 126 E. Main St.) to the starting lines of each race. Gear bags will be transported from both starting lines to the finish area where runners can reclaim their belongings.

Packet Pickup: Sign up early and pick up your packet at The Element Hotel (25 E Mendenhall St.).
Packet pick up will start Friday, September 7th from 4:30p - 8:00p
and continue through Saturday, September 8th from 10:00a - 6:00p.
Timing: We offer chip timing with Competitive Timing.
Finish Line/Swag/After Party: The after party will feature music from 12PM to 2PM. All runners will receive a T-shirt and a medal and will be able to join a post-race party in downtown Bozeman!
Results: Results will be posted at the finish line after the race and can also be found here on the webpage under the "Results" tab above. Printed results will also be available at Bozeman Running Company.

5K Race Details
The 5K course is located in beautiful Bozeman, Montana. The race will start at the corner of Grand Ave. and Main Street in downtown Bozeman. Runners will run down Main Street until they reach S. Church Ave. From there, they will run south until reaching the Galligator Trail. Runners will head west on the trail until reaching Kagy and will return by veering right onto Greek Way, which will lead onto S. Grand Ave. Runners will take Grand back to Main Street to finish.
