You’re invited to a special Pop-Up Kitchen for Runners, hosted by Skratch Labs and Runners Roost Lakewood! Join Dr. Allen Lim, founder of Skratch Labs in Boulder, as he leads an interactive cooking and nutrition class geared towards the Colorado runner. Skratch Labs is a local company specializing in hydrating and fueling the modern athlete. During the class, you’ll learn to make one of Skratch’s famous rice-cake portables (vegetarian & gluten free friendly recipe + vegan option!). Portables are easy-to-make recipes that use REAL FOOD to fuel your runs; they are delicious, nutrition, and ready to eat on-the-go. Dr. Lim will lead the demonstration of cooking, wrapping, and finally eating your portable masterpieces! You’ll also stay well hydrated throughout the class with Skratch Labs hydration drinks and one of our favorite Skratch mocktails.
Throughout the class, Dr. Lim will make the case that runners should be using solid foods for fueling and less caloric drinks for hydration. You’ll have the opportunity to pick Dr. Lim’s brain about fueling for training runs and races on both the trails and roads, why certain ingredients are better than others for digestion, and the optimal balance of nutrients to maximize performance.

In conjunction with this pop-up kitchen class, Runners Roost Lakewood will be making a donation to a JeffCoEats.org, a local non-profit organization that focuses on making sure no kids are hungry at JeffCo schools.
