Event Description

NorthBay Healthcare will host its fith annual Ride to Defeat Diabetes- or R2D2 - Sunday, September 11, when it rolls out of the parking lot at NorthBay VacaValley Hospital, 1000 Nut Tree Road.

The event's goal is to raise funds for the NorthBay Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology, and at the same time raise awareness in the community about the severity of the diabetes crisis in Solano County.

There are three separate rides, a 10 mile jaunt through rural Vacaville county roads then off to Elmira in the country, perfect for families and children, and a 25 mile and 60 mile ride for more serious cyclists.

Event details and schedule

The 60 mile ride departs at 7:30a.m., followed by the 25 mile ride at 9:00 a.m. Participants in the 10 mile ride will roll out at 10:00 a.m. 

You will be arriving at VacaValley Hospital to begin your ride.  Parking is available for you on site. 

For your safety it is mandatory to wear a helmet during the ride. Thank You.

Organizers are asking each person who signs up to ride the 10 mile ride, pledge to raise at least $10 for the NorthBay Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology. For the 25 and 60 mile rides, participants are asked to pledge at least $25 in donations. Checks can be made out to NorthBay Healthcare Foundation, with Diabetes in the memo field.

T-Shirts, a raffle ticket and lunch will be provided for registered riders.
