Event Description

Join the staff of Base Camp Cyclery and the coaches of e3 Fitness for an evening covering proper training, equipment, nutrition, and strategy to ensure you have the best endurance racing season you can. Over the course of the night, we'll offer advice, provide feedback, and arm you with information based on our previous successes and failures in the Leadville 100 and other similar events.

Part 1

One of the most common mistakes that new endurance athletes make is the "Ride you bike more" approach to training. We will cover what work you should be doing both on and off the bike and how to prioritized the time you have in your schedule to get training hours in.

Part 2

Do you really need a superlight, race ready machine to make it through your event? Or will you do just as well on something that is better suited to the training miles that you're going to be riding in the Front Range? There's a good chance you're considering a bike that won't serve you well in the lead up to your event.

Part 3

This session will cover on and off bike nurtrition and meal planning. Weekly meal prep strategies, guides for what will best serve you for fueling and recovery, and recommendations for on bike, race fuel. Hammer Nutrition will be on site with samples.

Part 4

"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face" - Mike Tyson

Racing is very much like this. Everyone has a meal plan, a pace they want to keep, or a goal time they want to hit. And all of it goes out the window when the start gun goes off. Our goal is help give you a tool set for when things get a little crazy during your race. Should I ride with a hyrdration pack or bottles? How much clothing should I bring? What should my tool kit have in it? How often should I eat and what should I be eating? We'll cover it all in the final section of our series.
