Event Description

The windowsill in Harlie's bedroom was her own miniature greenhouse: full of cups with planted seeds.  Harlie Taylor Barickman was a 3rd grader at Rye Elementary School and she loved everything outdoors--her dad even nicknamed her "bug".  Harlie's Greenhouse is a labor of love.  The greenhouse, located at Rye Elementary, provides a hands on, living classroom where students gain experience with growig plants, flowers, fruit, and vegetables.  Students in Rye and Connect Charter School, in Pueblo, are able to make healthy food choices by growing organic vegetables. 

Your participation in the Hoofit4Harlie run allows "Friends of Harlie's" to maintain the 800 square foot greenhouse, over outdoor 30 raised beds, seven hydroponic Tower Gardens, and a pumpkin patch which produces over 100 pumpkins!  Visit us on facebook or at harliesgreenhouse.com

Harlie's Greenhouse and garden space is a wonderful tribute to celebrate the life of the girl we loved so much--and we thank you for being a part of it.

5K and 10k start and finish line -- Greenhorn Valley Ace Hardware -- 10:00 am

                                                      Colorado City, Colorado

Half-marathon start line -- Barickman home -- 8140 Zorn Rd, Rye, Colorado -- 9:30 am

                      finish line -- Greenhorn Valley Ace Hardware (transportation back to Rye available )

** bathrooms available prior to event; water and bathrooms available after event

** water stations and toilets available for half marathon course   

** medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place kids, men, and women finishers

** arrive 30 minutes before event start time for bib assignment and late registration
