Event Description
The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is one of the largest multi-event races in the country. The excitement that surrounds this event continues to grow each year as more runners and generations of families turn out to experience the fun and family-friendly atmosphere that is the backdrop to the race. The Trot consists of both a certified 5K and an 8-mile race.
Our 5K Fun Run/Walk is designed to accommodate every person in your family, workplace and neighborhood. Grandparents, toddlers, infants in strollers – those who want to create a little room for that Thanksgiving dinner – all are welcome to be a part of this Run/Walk. The only “time” that matters is that we want you to have a good time at the Trot!
Participants looking for a longer race to jump start their Thanksgiving morning are invited to participate in our 8-Mile event. The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot’s 8-Mile course will start at City Hall, run past Reunion Park, across the Trinity River along the Houston Street Viaduct to Oak Cliff and back downtown along the Jefferson Street Viaduct. Grab a running buddy and head to the 8-Mile Trot! Make sure you check out the amazing downtown Dallas view from the Jefferson Street Viaduct near mile seven.
