Event Description
The Third Annual Bob McGoff Memorial 5k Run and 1mi Walk will be held in memory of Bob McGoff. Bob McGoff was known for his intensity as a basketball player and a coach, for his love of running and his leadership as a City of Scranton Councilman. He was first and foremost a teacher. He spent his entire life teaching our children. Bob believed in helping a child reach their goals in life and that the key was education. We want to continue that belief by awarding four scholarships to 2019 area high school graduates.
We are also raising funds to support the St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen. So many people, young and old depend on the kitchen for a meal. The kitchen operates solely on donations. Join us in helping to feed those in need and making sure that no individual goes hungry.

Time: 9:00 am start (day of registration from 7:30am - 8:45am)
Price: $20 online registration, $25 day of registration
Location: Connor's Park
Awards: Prizes will be presented to the top Male and Female Runners. Age Group Awards will go to the following age groups:
- 12 and Under
- 13-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60 and Over
Proceeds: The race proceeds will generate four scholarships for local area students to assist in their collegiate education expenses. Additional proceeds will be donated to various local charities.
Food Drive: In addition to the race, we will also be having a food drive. All canned and non-perishable goods are greatly appreciated.
