The Lehigh Valley Zoo 5k/10k for animal conservation sponsored by St. Luke's University Health Network is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year!
Enjoy one of the most picturesque running trails in all of Pennsylvania! Your 5k or 10k trek will take you through the trexler game preserve which is a serene animal sanctuary that totals more than 1200 acres. Your fun race will end inside the lehigh valley zoo as you run past our zebras, oryx, camels, ostrich, kangaroo and end at our St Luke's Giraffe Barn where Murphy and Tatu will be cheering you on!
The Zoo's 5K & 10K start is 8:30 am in the Zoo's parking lot. The 10k will start first and the 5k will follow 10 minutes later. Register by June 30th to receive the pricing discount and a run wild sport shirt. Last day to register and receive a shirt will be July 30th.
Your registration/contribution for this event supports Lehigh Valley Zoo's animal conservation efforts which raised over $25,000 last year to fund nesting shelters for our penguins, enrichment items for our giraffe, wolves, otters and other animals as well as exhibit upgrades to promote breeding with our otters and oryx!

Event details and schedule
Sunday August 26th is Lehigh Valley Zoo's 9th annual Run Wild for Animal Conservation 10K and 5k race. The 10k race will begin at 8:30am followed by the 5k race at 8:40am. Day of event registration and packet pickup begins at 7:30am. Packet pick up is available on Sunday August 19th and Saturday August 25th, both days from 10am - 3pm at the lehigh valley zoo. Run through the beautiful Trexler Nature Preserve, along the Jordan Creek, through the 150 year old Geiger Covered Bridge and alongside the animals inside Lehigh Valley Zoo. The wide, well groomed, trails bordering the Jordan Creek are tree canopied and offer a shaded picturesque run to be remembered all year long. The run finishes with a full loop within Lehigh Valley Zoo.
Results and awards will be in 10 Year Increments as well as a 12 and under and 13-19 age brackets. Free admission to Lehigh Valley Zoo on race day with your event T-Shirt and all participant get a zoo goody bag!
T-shirts are included to participants who register no later than July30th! We will have tshirts for sale the day of event.
