Event Description
NOTE: This 23-mile walk is a new event created from the last section of the Big Walk (segment 3) from Newark, Penn Station to Penn Station, NYC.
By special request we are offering another opportunity to cover this interesting, and challenging, section that often gets cut back even for the heartiest FreeWalker due to time restraints during the 50-mile Big Walk.
If you are interested in completing the 100-mile Cross-Jersey Challenge you can use these miles for the last section. The event is FREE, open to everyone and fully supported.

- Check the Google Interactive Map for latest route this year. Look only for the sections that apply from Newark to NYC.
- Schedule:
- Start - Penn Station Waiting room near police kiosk arrive 7:30-8:00 am - check in, get numbers, photo, briefing.
- End - Tick Tock Diner 3:00 8th & 34th or Penn Station
As we have done in the past, our walk primarily follows the East Coast Greenway. This is our most diverse walks. The walk is conveniently near mass transit.
This year again, The Big Walk is an important segment event for our Cross-Jersey Walking Challenge encompassing most of the miles of the 100 total goal for the year. Join the challenge and walk the entire state in 2018 at your own pace for your own glory.
