Event Description
For 18 years the Wyoming Valley Striders 20K Classic held in Wilkes-Barre was considered the area’s premier long distance road race. In 1993, the Striders board was forced to cancel the race due to traffic control issues. On September 13, 2014, the Striders resurrected this historic race on the beautiful D&L Trail, located in Lehigh Gorge State Park, in White Haven PA.
The Wyoming Valley Striders 20K Run is back for a 5th year! The course runs along the D&L Trail, is wheel measured and marked, has a rolled cinder surface, and is an out and back configuration with a slight decline on the way out and a slight incline on the way back. There will be water stops on the course.
Online registration pricing (with no processing fees!) right here on RunSignup.com, goes like this:
Early Bird Rate: Sign up by July 31st and the race registration fee is a very cool $25
Procrastinator: Sign up after July 31st and you'll have to shell out a still very light $30 to run the race (WVS members receive $5 discount)
Super Procrastinators: Race day registrants at the Lehigh Gorge State Park White Haven Access Area parking lot in White Haven pay $35
There are no refunds of race registration fees. To celebrate our 5th year, the first 120 entrants who pre-register will receive a commemorative throw on race day, all others, including Super Procrastinators a 20K pint glass.
Wyoming Valley Striders running club members who pre-register after July 31st will receive a $5 discount when using the coupon code: 201820KWVS1

This year we're trying a different giveaway. Since cold weather is just around the corner, what could be nicer than a warm, custom-designed, commemorative throw? The first 120 entrants who pre-register will receive one when they check-in at the race venue on race day. All others, including Super Procrastinators, (participants who register on race day), will receive a 20K pint glass. So register early! If you've registered and unable to come to the race venue on race-day, you can make other arrangements to have someone pick up your throw.
Post-race refreshments will be provided to the runners at the finish area.
