Event Description
Join us for the 16th Annual Beat the Heat hosted by the Franklin Regional Soccer Boosters! Our event is excited to announce our new location. The event will start at 8 AM at our beautiful Rotary Miracle Sports Complex of Murrysville located inside Murrysville Community Park.
This event is scored by The Runner’s High using the ChampionChip Timing System and will have competitive runners at the front of the pack.
Entry Fee:
$20 if registered by August 5th; $25 after August 5th.
T-shirts are guaranteed to those whose registration forms are received by August 5th; available while supplies last to those received after August 5th including day of race registration beginning @ 7:00 AM on Race Day (8/18/17).
Race Start:
Registration Check-in begins at 7 AM Race starts at 8 AM - We will make every effort to have our competitive runners start the race at the front of the pack. This Event is scored by The Runner’s High using the ChampionChip Timing System. On race day, all participants will be issued a rental computer chip which is attached to the shoe and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the finish line will record a finishing time for each chip. All rental chips must be returned at the finish line. There is a $35 fee for each lost chip.
Awards & Prizes:
Will be presented following the race. Awards to Top Male & Top Female Overall, 1st– 3rdplace in 19 yrs & under age groups and 1st– 2ndin 20 yrs & over age groups. The following are the Male & Female age groups:
Runners: U10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-29,
30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Walkers: No age bracket; awards to top 3.
Prizes will be given away by random drawing after awards are distributed. All registered participants are eligible for prizes. You must be present to win.
New this year will be a Chinese Auction Basket Raffle. Participants and spectators may purchase tickets to win.
A portion of our proceeds will benefit The Miracle League of Western Pennsylvania.
Event details and schedule
NEW LOCATION....Race starts at 8:00 AM at The Rotary Miracle Sports Complex of Murrysville located inside Murrysville Community Park, 4056 Wiestertown Road, Export, PA. There is plenty of parking near the race start and at the ball fields near the Rotary Miracle Sports Complex.
RACE COURSE
Go from the Miracle Field to the entrance of the park via the main road that goes in and out. Make a left onto Wiestertown Rd and make first right onto Farm road. Turn around on Farm road when you get to Hilty rd. Make a left onto Wiestertown road. Stay on Wiestertown and you will pass the entrance to the park. There will be a designated turn around further down near the horsing fencing. Then you return into the park and continue to the Rotary Miracle Field Complex where the race will end. There is a pavilion, bathrooms and electric there we have special permission to use.
We are quite excited about our brand new race route and hope you will be too.
Registration opens at 7 AM and you can pickup your race gift bag and race chip at that time. Race chips must be returned at the end of the race. We will have volunteers there to cut yours off at the finish line.
All race participants are eligible to win prizes at the end but must be present at the end of the race to win. In addition to this, we will also have a Chinese Auction basket raffle. All participants and spectators to may buy Chinese Auction tickets.
