Event details and schedule

Online registration will open at noon on April 20. In 2015 we reached our race cap of 1000 people at 5pm the same day and expect a similar situation this year. Once we reach our race cap, registration will be closed. We will not be taking a wait list or allowing cancellations. It is possible to transfer in if you can connect with a registered participant who has decided not to race.

Estimating Your Time is MANDATORY: Typically you can add 30 minutes to the time of your road half marathon with no elevation gain (more if you are unaccustomed to an elevation of 8000 feet). Another way to estimate your time is to compare yourself to how racers finished in 2015. Out of 793 finishers in 2015, the following results were achieved:  1st place - 1hr 29min; 50th place - 1:53; 100th place - 2:03; 198th place (top 1/4) - 2:14; 396th place (middle of the pack) - 2:33; 594th Place (top 3/4) - 2:52. Please try to be realistic with your time as this will allow the waves to work properly and reduce congestion on the course.

Wave Placements will be posted the Wednesday before the race. Placement in waves depends on racers historical times or estimated time.

Race Start Time is 8:30am Saturday, September 24th. Timing Chips are Mandatory and are attached to your bib. Chip, bib and goody bag pick-up is scheduled at the Ute Mountaineer 9/21 & 9/22 9am-8pm and on 9/23 9am-9:30pm. Race day packet, bib, chip pick-up is 7-8:15am at the race start in Snowmass Village.

A gear shuttle is available from race start to finish. Public transportation leaves Rubey Park (3 blocks from the finish line) in Aspen for Snowmass Village regularly - bus and race shuttle schedules have not been determined at the time of registration posting.

2016 Race Results will be available after the race at the finish line and at the Ute, as well as online at http://www.utemountaineer.com/event-calendar/golden-leaf-half-marathon/.
