Event Description

The Double Bay Double/Dolly Renegade Ride to benefit the HIV and Hep C services of Project Inform (www.projectinform.org) registration is now open! Saturday September 22 we begin our circumnavigation of San Francisco and San Pablo Bays ending back in the city on Sunday September 23rd! 3 bridges, 2 bays, 2 days, 200 miles with great friends to raise $25,000+ for Project Inform’s HIV and Hepatitis C advocacy, policy, education and research efforts! It’s an extension of the ALC Love Bubble as this fully-supported ride also has boisterous, caring AIDS/LifeCycle veteran riders and Roadies; entertaining rest stops; and courteous/fun/safe riding on a beautiful route. What’s unique about this ride?

  • It’s a small ride as we max out at 50 of the most interesting, funny and compassionate people. We laugh and take care of each other! Our Roadie to Rider ratio has been almost 1:1! Now that’s support!

  • WE STAY IN HOTELS! It’s so nice to have a comfy bed after 100 miles and still be able to have dinner/s’mores with some of the best people on the planet! We pay for our own accommodations and lunches and that means you get what you want and 100% of fundraising goes to Project Inform’s programs and services. Did we mention you don’t have to pay for any airline tickets from LA? HA!

  • The fundraising minimum is only $500 which will go far in supporting the HIV and Hepatitis C work of Project Inform (www.projectinform.org), one of the oldest HIV organizations in the world. This powerful 33 year old grassroots agency brought you the ADAP program (making HIV drugs are affordable to clients); co authored the United State’s first National AIDS Strategy; leading the SF and CA’s Getting to Zero campaigns; works on healthcare legislation in CA and nationally resulting in outcomes such as curing thousands of Hepatitis C; founding the Fair Pricing Coalition (challenging pharmaceutical companies to price drugs reasonably); providing information via phone and chatlines; production of highly lauded educational materials used throughout the country and sooo much more. With only 8 staff, the $25,000 we hope to raise on the DBD/Dolly ride will ensure this tiny agency continues to do HUGE work.

It's a really fun ride of amazing participants and you affect the change you want to see in the world! It's a perfect weekend! http://www.doublebaydouble.org/
