Event Description
Description
For children 5+ that haven't had lessons before or can not swim independently for more than 5 yards. For every level of the Learn-to Swim Program, our instructors follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water safety skills. In Level 1 & 2 - Introduction to Water Skills and Fundamental Aquatic Skills, your child is introduced to basic water skills as the foundation for future skills and the development of water competency. The goals for Level 1 & 2 include: entering and exiting the water independently; traveling in the water independently; bobbing; opening the eyes underwater and retrieving a submerged object; and gliding on the front and back with assistance. The previous skills will culminate into independent skills including: jumping into chest-deep water; fully submerging and holding the breath; back floating; swimming on the front and back; rolling from front to back and back to front; and treading in chest-deep water.
