Event Description

Celebrate the start of the 2018 - 2019 Pittsburgh Penguins season by participating in the sixth annual Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk presented by Highmark on October 14, 2018.  The unique 6.6K distance (4.1 miles) pays tribute to Pittsburgh Penguins great Mario Lemieux, and proceeds from the event benefit two local Pittsburgh charities; the Mario Lemieux Foundation and the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

Online registration ends October 7, 2018 at 11:59PM EST.  Race weekend registration will be available at pre-race packet pickups and on race morning. 

Included with Registration:

- Custom Gildan short- sleeve performance t-shirt (mens, womens & youth available)

- Custom-designed finishing medal                                                                                                        

The 6.6K Run and 3.3K Family Walk will begin and end at PPG Paints Arena.  Course maps and other event details will be announced soon.  Visit www.mariolemieux.org for more event day information.

New this year! A Virtual Race option has been added for the 6.6K only. Registration for the Virtual Race will open August 1 and participants must register online. Participants will receive an email the week of the race with further instructions on how to submit their official time. Virtual Race participants will receive a shirt and medal after race day and only after submitting a virtual race time on the Mario Lemieux Foundation website. Virtual Race registration closes on October 7.
