Event Description
This annual event has become so popular and is quick to sell out because of all of the toys our runners choose to pick up prior to the race for the toy drive that gets delivered to the boys and girls club of Tarpon Springs. The toys are not mandatory with your registration but the love is overwhelming so feel free to register and join us Sunday, December 9, 2018, for another year of Florida's Greatest Seafood 5K at Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grille on the Sponge Docks of Historic Tarpon Springs, Florida.
This completely paved and fun 5K run/walk course takes you from the best seafood restaurant in Florida through the Greek villages and Historic Sponge Docks of Tarpon Springs Florida. This is a favorite for destination runners and walkers as well as locals who love to race the XRM races for their "race local" experience. The 5K begins at 9:30 and all registrants are encourage to bring an unwrapped new toy ($10 average) that we will donate to the Tarpon Springs Boys and Girls Club who will be present to cheer you on at the finish line.
Register early as this race will sell out fast and each registrant receive the awesome finisher's medal, free beer and seafood sampler at the Rusty Bellies post race party.
Event details and schedule
Check in is race morning only beginning at 8:30 am at Rusty Bellies. Please park in the designated parking lot outside of Rusty Bellies. The 5K will be electronically timed by bib number so be sure to wear your bib on the front of the shirt you are racing in. We do not issue age group awards in an effort to maintain our less competitive crowd but awards will be presented to the top 15 males and top 15 females to cross the finish line. Overall times will be post online after the race at www.727CanRace.com This is a DO NOT miss event and a one of a kind medal all participants will want to add to their collection of awesome finisher's medals. We'll see you for a great race experience.
