Dash for the Dogs
Animal House Shelter's 8th Annual 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Family Fun Walk
Animal House Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter in Huntley, IL. Dash for the Dogs allows us to raise funds necessary to cover the cost of our animals’ medical expenses and overall care.

Location: Citizens Park, 511 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010 Event Time: 6:15 am - 11:00 am
Check-in/Registration: 6:15 am to 7:45 am (in Jewel Tea Pavilion)
5K Run/Walk: 8:00 am, Awards: 9:00 am, 1 Mile Family Fun Walk: 9:45 am
Cost: $25-$35 pre-registration, $40 race day registration, free for children under 10 years old * $25 for groups of 10 or more who register online * Earn a $10 refund for every 5 people who register with your referral link (provided once you register)
Can't make the event, you can register for our Virtual Dash for the Dogs and run anywhere at any time! We'll ship you an official Dash for the Dogs t-shirt and race bag the week of May 20th!
Our race course is certified and timed. The top three female and male finishers in each age group receive medals. The top overall female and male finishers receive a special award. The first two dogs to cross the finish line will also receive a prize!
Age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 & over.
Dogs are welcome to participate in the run or walk as long as they are leashed at all times, current on rabies and distemper vaccines, and have excellent temperament with other dogs and children. The first 25 dogs to arrive with a registered person will receive a free bandanna! Strollers are welcome in the run and walk. Following the run and walk we will have food, medals, awards and other festivities for people to enjoy. We will also be acknowledging our top fundraisers!
