Event Description

The UC San Diego Bruce Gorder 5K Walk for Melanoma exists to educate people about the dangers of melanoma by promoting awareness, prevention and early detection. We provide free skin cancer screenings by local and UC San Diego Dermatologists. Since the Walk’s inception, we have screened more than 2,000 people. Many early melanomas have been spotted that might have been missed without the Walk.

The Route: Beginning and ending at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, the comfortable walk winds through the fragrant and beautiful eucalyptus trees of the scenic UC San Diego Campus. Participants will view the famous Stuart Outdoor Art Collection, and enjoy Interactive Melanoma Awareness Stations along the way.
