Event Description

Nine years ago we could not have envisioned that our Annual "Tri" for Acts of Kindness SPRINT Triathlon/Duathlon and 5K FUN RUN/Walk would be a noted and widely enjoyed event!  Each year we have enjoyed an increasing record number of entries and once again, and as always, we are looking forward to meeting First Timers, returning friends and making new friends.

If this is your first Triathlon, Duathlon or 5K, or if you are you getting ready for a full Triathlon, Duathlon or a Marathon, our 9th Annual SPRINT Triathlon/Duathlon and 5K Run/Walk just might be the perfect event to get you warmed up and tuned up!

You Asked For It And Now We Have It - a Family Triathlon and Duathlon event open to families with children who want to be on a Family Relay Team (two or three members).  For the Triathlon and Duathlon the child must be 10 years or older and can swim or run but must be at least 15 years old for the bike course.  While participants will be timed, this event is designed to get youth active in the multisport lifestyle.  Participation is emphasized over placement. This race is great for first-timers and experienced young athletes.

(No one under the age of 15 can be on the bike leg of a relay team. 10-14 year-olds can swim or run, but not bike.)

Because this is a SPRINT  Triathlon

The Swim is only 200 yards

The Bike Course is 13.3 miles

The Run Course is 3.1 miles (5K)

And...as a Sprint Duathlon
The First Run is 1.5 miles (5K)
The Bike Course is 13.3 miles
The Second Run is 3.1 miles (5K)

Perfect distances for First Timers and Beginners and fun and relaxed for more experienced triathletes, duathletes and runners!

What Our Event Supports: The Shyann Kindness Project (TSKP) is a 100% volunteer organization that has served more than 23,000 underprivileged, at-risk, and/or medically fragile children since 2006. Our Kindness Gift-Giving Events are both a teaching and gifting program that takes place throughout the year at venues including low-income schools, shelters, group homes, Head Start programs, homeless meal programs, and TMC's Pediatric Emergency Center.

Annual events include "Backpack Night" for children in the Sunnyside Neighborhood and a Christmas party for 200 children plus their parents or caregivers that takes place at a different school each year.
