Event Description
The Patriot Run is a patriotic themed event that highlights the Prescott Valley Healing Field of Northern Arizona. The Healing Field is a memorial of nearly 3,000 American Flags that represent the lives lost on 9/11. The 10K, 5K, and 1 mile fun run will start and finish at the Healing Field. The course for the 10K and 5K follows a relatively flat route around the Town of Prescott Valley. All participants are encouraged to dress up in a patriotic theme to represent the Good Ol' USA. Following the 10k and 5k we’ll do a quick awards presentation and a short opening ceremony for the Healing Field Memorial which will include a helicopter flyover. Then ay 10am we’ll start the 1 mile and the family fun portion of the event, with fire trucks and police vehicles on display and a Kids Physical Agility Test (KPAT) obstacle course. The KPAT is a kid size version of the physical testing that future firefighters have to complete before starting their career as a fulltime firefighter. The family fun portion will go from 10am - noon.

Please register as early as possible. Early check-in and in person registration will be available on September 7th at the Prescott Valley Civic Center from 10a-noon, look for the tables near the Healing Field. Race day check-in/registration will open at 6:00am on September 8th. 10k start time is 7am, 5k at 7:15.

Special Note ****We want to express respect and appreciation to our US Military Veterans and Active Duty soldiers by waiving their entry fee. If you are a veteran or active duty personnel please register in person on September 7th from 10am-noon or on September 8th from 6am - 7am. With respect we ask that you bring proof of service (such as a copy of your DD214 or news paper clipping, etc.) or your 'Active Duty Military ID'.****
We'll kick off the event with the 10k start at 7:00. The opening ceremony for the Healing Field will start at 9:30, the Central Arizona Honor Guard will present colors to the National Anthem, The Central Arizona Pipes and Drums Band will play, and the ceremony will wrap up with a helicopter fly over by Native Air. There will be a fire and police apparatus display as well as an obstacle course for the kids. All registered participants will receive a high quality cotton event t-shirt. The route for all races is relatively flat. The 5K and 10K will run through the Prescott Valley Entertainment District where a bagpiper will be playing tunes as you run by. Plenty of parking will be available, but may require a short walk to the Civic Center. There will not be a fee charged for parking. Leave yourself plenty of time to check out the apparatus display and wander through the Healing Field, it will be worth your while! Patriotism is the theme. Come on out, show your patriotism, and enjoy the experience!
