Event Description

Please join us for our first ever Face Your Fears 5K and Not So Scary 1K! Whether you're trying to burn off those bite-sized candy bars or simply get into the spirit, this race will do the trick. Grab your running shoes and come dressed in your best Halloween costume to face the creatures of the dark on this haunted course.    

The first 500 registered will receive a ticket to the Walk in the Dark at Shoreline Park Haunted House, good for any day.

All participants who register will receive a custom finisher's medal. All participants who register by 30 September 2018 will receive a custom finisher's medal and t-shirt. T-SHIRTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED AFTER 30 SEPTEMBER 2018.   

Civilians wishing to seek shelter on JBLM should have an approved valid form of identification and register prior to 10 October 2018. ID’s accepted are Passport, Enhanced ID, or other listed form under the Real ID Act of 2005. For more information visit https://www.dhs.gov/real-id-public-faqs

Sponsorship booths issuing "lives": 1700-1945

Not so Scary 1K: 2000

Face Your Fears 5K: 2030 (Participants may be released in waves depending on participation numbers. Updates will be provided to participants prior to the race.)

Runners should be present at least 1 hour prior to start for check-in and obtaining “lives”. 

Costume contest: We will have a costume contest for the following categories - "Creepiest Costume" and "Is that really a costume?". 

You will get one life with your registration. You will have opportunities to gain up to three additional lives by visiting our sponsorship booths.  

Photo opportunities will be at the end of the 5K. We will bring all monsters back to the race hub to pose for pictures with the participants. This is not a one-on-one photo opportunity. This is a chance to get a custom photo with multiple monsters lurking behind you.
