Event Description

Run where no marathon has gone before…through “The Petrified Forest National Park”. Through an exclusive partnership between the City of Holbrook and the National Park Service we are able to provide runners with this opportunity.

Your journey will take you past petrified wood that are millions of years old and through the majestic Painted Desert. Come run and experience one of the most unique marathons in the world.

The Petrified Forest Marathon takes place on a scenic, point-to-point course during the cool fall air. It starts on the north end of the Petrified Forest National Park and, goes straight south winding through the park to the south end. The road through the Petrified Forest National Park is 26 miles long and is ideal for a Marathon.

NEW THIS YEAR!  We have added a Half Marathon option.  Not ready for the full marathon yet?  Then the half marathon is just for you!

There are only 150 spots available for our 3rd Annual race so register now before all the spots are gone.
