Event Description

PATAGONIA LAKE TRIATHLON

JUST ADDED: Youth event: Spooky Splash and Dash details HERE

A True Olympic Distance event with a smooth 1500 m swim, challenging 24.6 mile bike, and scenic 10K run. We also offer a SPRINT 500m swim, 8 mile hilly bike, and 5K run. This venue is just as beautiful as God intended Arizona to be. Starting at Southern Arizona's Patagonia Lake State Park on the swim course. Transition to a rigorous climb on the bike - all paved and roadbike worthy. You will use all your gears on this one. The 10K run is on the Sonoita Creek trail head, mixed dirt and pavement, mostly dirt. It also has some tough climbing. Please check out course maps and pre-ride or run the courses if you can. This course has been called the toughest Olympic in Arizona.

Relay Team and 5K/10K are all available.

We are including finishers medal, park entry, excellent post race meal, and a comfortable technical shirt.  Oh yeah, and so much fun. We love to have you race with us.

Event details and schedule

Bring your USAT card and ID, please. You need it to pick up your packet :-)

New this year, your day-of-event park entry IS included. We still encourage you to purchase an annual pass, camping, or carpooling on race day. Check the website for free course preview dates! We hold a free pre-race swim in August, a bike course preview in September, and a run in early October. The park and all the courses are open to the public year round.
