Event Description

This is the inaugural year of Dr. Kayce’s Birthday 5k. Event creator and director, Dr. Kayce Solari Williams is an advocate of all people living a life full of movement. Participants in this event will be giving Dr. Kayce a great birthday gift by running or walking for themselves AND a great organization. Half of the proceeds from the run will go towards participants’ shirts and medals. The other half will be donated to Hope Over Hurt (HOH), a faith-based, non-profit organization focused on Service, Outreach, and Empowerment in the Houston area, the US, and around the world. You can also donate additional funds to HOH during registration.

*Runners/walkers can join us in person on event day or participate in a virtual run anywhere in the world!

In-person 5k Info

Runners/walkers joining us in Memorial Park on October 20th will meet in front of the dining and restroom area next to the Tennis Center on Lieberman Trail (see image gallery for a map). 

• Check-in/t-shirt distribution begins at 7:30 am
• Warm-up & Stretch is at 8:20 am
• Official start of the run/walk is at 8:30 am
• Medals are issued at the finish line (near the check-in location).

Virtual 5k Info

Runners/walkers who are not able to participate in person can participate in a virtual 5k. This way you can run anytime and anywhere and still support HOH as well as earn a finisher’s medal and custom t-shirt.

Virtual participants can run/walk anytime after completing their registration through the event day (October 20th). The completion of the virtual run/walk is on an honor system, but participants are encouraged to post a picture of themselves “in action” on Instagram or Facebook including all of the following hashtags:

• #HopeOverHurt

Medals and t-shirts will be mailed to virtual runners/walkers* after the conclusion of the in-person event on October 20th. Shipping may take 1-2 weeks. The cost of shipping is included in the event registration price.
