Event Description

Welcome to the 2019 WRC Turkey Trot 5k race page! This Thanksgiving Day 5k – our 9th annual -- is guaranteed to be a blast for the entire family, and we hope you’ll join WRC to Walk, Run, or Crawl across the finish line.

We have generous sponsors that will enable us to provide a great indoor venue as we wait for the race, coffee and bagels, bottled water, etc.

The race will start at St. Michael Church East Auditorium at 9 a.m. sharp on November 28th. The race course winds through the scenic Country Club Estates neighborhood and is enjoyable not only for the fastest runners but also for families with strollers and pets. There will be prizes awarded for the best Thanksgiving-themed costumes, which are always a fun part of the event.

Race day sign-up will be available early on Thanksgiving morning, but the ever-popular long-sleeved Turkey t-shirts will be available only while supplies last. We expect over 1,600 participants this year, so sign up early to have a wonderful morning in support of Women’s Resource Center of Hancock County (WRC).

Pre-registration fee is $25 for one of your most memorable events of the year. After Sunday, November 24th, and on race day, the fee will be $30 (and t-shirts available only while we have them). Race bag pick-up will be the day before at Dave's Running Shop, Tiffin Avenue, Findlay, from 11am until 6pm, as well as race day morning. Please note that like last year we will not be using a chip timing system but will have a running clock based on the gun time. We will, however, have great awards for the Top 30 Females and Top 30 Males.  This will simplify the event, allowing more time to get to your Thanksgiving dinner, and for those Top 30 front runners, have something to surprise your family and friends at your dinner.
