Event Description

Run or walk into stinky fun for the whole family. The annual Garlic Festival has a parade, live music, and garlic-themed food and craft vendors to explore following our half marathon, 10K, and 5K events. Experience the rural beauty of the North Plains as you run on quiet farm roads. NOTE: half marathon starts at 7 a.m. (10K starts at 8 am; 5K at 8:15 am). Note that there is a 3 hour time limit for the half marathon due to other events at the Garlic Festival. If you don't expect to finish by 10 a.m. we strongly encourage you to sign up for the 10K event.

Celebrate the Elephant Garlic Festival with a half marathon, 10K or 5K run/walk around the City of North Plains and the scenic roads of Washington County. Our new half marathon course completes two loops of a scenic course in the hills of Washington County. After the race enjoy elephant garlic, custom-made socks, and all that the festival has to offer!

ORRC members will receive $10 off their registration. You'll also have the opportunity to sign up for ORRC membership during the registration process and receive $10 off your registration.

Early bib pickup to be determined.

Courses

The Garlic Festival 10k is part of the ORRC 10k Series. The 10K is a beautiful hilly loop around the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.

Awards

The Garlic Festival 5K and 10K are RRCA Oregon State Championship events!

The 5K and 10K are both Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Oregon State Championship events, and as such, special awards will go the to 5K and 10K State Champions as follows: The top male and female open, masters (40+), grand masters (50+) and senior grand masters (60+) runners will receive an RRCA medal (a total of 8 RRCA medals altogether per event).

ORRC Awards

In addition, ORRC will present plaques to the top male and female open and masters finishers in both running and walking categories for the 5K and 10K (a total of 16 plaques), and same in the half marathon except runners only (a total of 4 more plaques).

ORRC also awards ribbons three places deep in five-year age groups for both runners and walkers for the 5K and 10K race events, and to the runners (only) in the half marathon. A strict city course time limit, due to festival parades and traffic congestion, restricts ORRC from allowing a walk-only half marathon option.
