Event Description

**THIS RACE HAS BEEN CANCELLED THIS YEAR DUE TO FAMILY HEALTH ISSUES** Tsunami Run 5k is a walk/run open to all ages in beautiful Port Orford, Oregon each year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Beginning at the Old City Jail Park, the route travels its 3.1 miles through the paved roadways of this coastal village, crossing the Highway 101 only once. The race is very easily completed by any member of your family. We have mothers with stollers, tiny tots, school age track teams, as well as elders finish each year. Hand made inspiring signage is placed along the event to keep you laughing and feeling motivated with community member's art and antics! Yellow arrows are placed to point you in the direction of any path changes at junctions. Participants complete the event at the Battlerock Beach State park where they can enjoy the view, walk the beach, or have a bite to eat/tasty beverage at one of the several eateries within walking distance, accomodations also include multiple hotels with ocean views within the start/finish location. Tsunami Run 5k picks a new beneficiary each year with the community in mind, this year the proceeds will be given to the Safe Haven Tsunami relief container to get necessary emergency items. The run helped the safe haven two years ago place the container in its current position and now it is time to fill it!
