Event Description

Mountaindale Sun Resort hosts its annual clothing optional 5K Run The Trails Challenge on Sunday, August 7th, 2016.   The race takes runners over the resort’s 104 acres of mountainous trails.

The race is open to runners and running teams. The challenging run’s 2016 theme “The Best Nude Run in the USA” caters to experienced runners. Awards, prizes, and t-shirts will be a part of the event. The hilly course is described as "the best pre-course for Hood to Coast relay” and welcomes all runners. While very doable for experienced runners, it is more difficult that other clothing option fun runs.

The 2016 race is one of the favorite events at the Mountaindale Sun Resort SunFest beginning on August 5th.  Pre-registration is highly encouraged. Race participants and guests coming for the weekend may participate in the Sun Fest activities including live music, dinner and dance party, vendors, sports, and a variety of activities.

Mountaindale Sun Resort is a family oriented nudist resort, located 35 miles from Portland, Oregon, off of HWY 26  towards the Oregon coast.

Event details and schedule

Welcome to Mountaindale Sun Resort's 5th Annual Run the Trails Challenge. The hilly course covers the Mountaindale Sun Resort 104 acres of trails.   The start time is 10:00.  Please arrive by 9:00 for check in.  The road to the resort is closed at 9:30 for the run.

 This is a clothing optional run.  Many runners are nude so this should not be a surprise!   Please bring a towel to sit on or for use of the club pool, showers, spa, etc.   Carpooling is encouraged.

For those desiring to stay overnight, a SunFest package is offered which includes 2 nights of temp camping, access to the SunFest, a festival of arts, music, vendors, sports, games.
