The Triple Threat Series is back! Join Black Hills Triathlon, Lakewood SummerFEST Triathlon, and Budu Racing's Bonney Lake Triathlon for a summer of races! The Triple Threat Series consists of three Triathlons throughout the summer of 2019. The first tri begins on June 16 with the Black Hills Sprint Triathlon in Lacey. The second race of the series is the Lakewood SummerFEST Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, July 13. The series wraps up on Saturday, August 31 with the BuDu Racing Bonney Lake Sprint Triathlon. YOU DO NOT SIGN UP FOR EACH RACE INDIVIDUALLY. Simply register here for the Triple Threat and you will be signed up for all three.  Upon completion of all three triathlons, Triple Threat participants will receive entry in a raffle for a grand prize, and a Triple Threat medal. These are in addition to the individual race promotional items. Check out each website (listed below) for more details on each race!

The Black Hills Triathlon and Bonney Lake Triathlon Require the purchase of a Yearly USAT Membership. Participation will not be allowed without the proper USAT Documentation at Packet Pick-Up.

 

Black Hills Triathlon (USAT Sanctioned)

The Black Hills Triathlon in Lacey is a premier, USAT sanctioned, sprint distance triathlon organized by a team of event specialists who are passionate about providing a safe and well-organized race of the highest quality. Our race is uniquely suited to both the beginning triathlete and the seasoned competitor and features a ½ mile swim in beautiful Long Lake, a 12 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run.

All participants must have an annual USA Triathlon membership card. You must bring your annual USA Triathlon membership card and photo ID to show at packet pickup. If you are not a member, then you must show your receipt for your annual (not one day)  membership OR purchase an annual membership on site. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE WITHOUT THIS. 

 Lakewood SummerFEST Triathlon 
The Lakewood SummerFEST Triathlon, held in Lakewood, Washington, is a fun and competitive Sprint Triathlon. The course consists of a ½ mile swim starting and ending from the shores of American Lake Park; a 14-mile bike course  and a 3.1-mile run through the trails at Fort Steilacoom Park.

Packet Pick-up:

Friday, July 12, 11:00-1:30 and 4:30-6:30 pm at Lakewood City Hall (6000 Main Street SW, Lakewood, 98499 room 1E) and Saturday July 9, 7:30am at Fort Steilacoom Park 8714 87th Ave SW. Or race day, at American Lake Park 6:30-8:00am.

Race Day Schedule: 

Please note that this race has two transition areas.The swim begins at American Lake Park 9222 Veterans Drive SW 98499,  which is Transition 1. Transition 2, where the run begins, is at Fort Steilacoom Park 8714 87th Ave SW, 98499. Racers place their bikes at T1 (American Lake Park) and take a free shuttle to T2 (Fort Steilacoom Park) to set up their run gear. A great benefit to this Triathlon is SummerFEST, a festival that takes place at Fort Steilacoom Park at 11:00am as athletes finish the race. There is fun for the whole family! Enjoy live music, beer garden, food trucks, art activities, children's races, kids multi-sporting events, and an international festival. 6:30am – 8:45am: T1 and T2 areas open for gear staging. Only racers with body numbers and wrist bands may enter the transition areas for staging their own gear.

6:30am – 8:20am: Shuttle bus running from American Lake Park to  Fort Steilacoom Park. 

9:00am Swim begins at American Lake Park 9222 Veterans Drive SW 98499.

8:35am: Racer Count-In

8:45am: Racer pre-race briefing 

8:50am: Open Water Warm Up 

9:00am: RACE START
