On March 28, 2015 the first “DGMF Freedom from Violence Walk” will begin & end at Hermosa Park on 20th Street and Southern. Upon the completion of the walk we will host the “Stand Up For Right Block Party” where there will be live entertainment, food, information/vendor booths, speakers, a Bounce House, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, & Games. We encourage your participation and donations as this event is an opportunity to give back to the community and help in our efforts to "Steer youth from Violence to change a generation!" All proceeds benefit the DGMF E.M.P.L.O.Y. Youth & Mothers of Murdered Children Programs and House of  H.E.L.P.S. Community & Worship Center.

 THIS IS A FREE EVENT! WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE REGISTER IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THIS CAUSE & OUR PROGRAMS!

This Walk for Freedom From Violence will begin at Hermosa Park (20th & Southern). We will then walk East to 32nd Sreet, South to Baseline, West back to 24th Street, North to Southern, then West back to Hermosa Park where all the festivities of our "Stand Up For Right 2019 Block Party will be yours to enjoy. Please arrive between 8 & 8:45 A.M. to Check-In & pick up your packets. The Walk will begin at 9:00 A.M. Block Party follows the Walk @ 11:00. We will walk along sidewalks with police escort stopping traffic on our behalf. Bring anti-violence posters/signs (we will have approximately 50 signs available), water bottles & anything else you believe you will need to walk approximately 5 miles. Dress cool and comfortable. There will be free water at various places along the route with Gatorade (for sale @ $2, this benefits our Youth Programs) as well. Medical personnel will be available in case of emergency along the route as well. We hope you will stay for the festivities as the purpose of this event is to bring the community together as a whole, and bring awareness & possible solutions regarding the violence that has stolen so many of our young peoples lives.There will be plenty of parking space at Hermosa Park & South Point; so, bring family members friends and neighbors with you to enjoy the entertainment and our encouraging & uplifting speakers!

Our organization has received a certificate of appreciation from the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, and County Attorney Mr. Bill Montgomery will be present as a speaker as well as other civil & political personnel (TBA) who will answer any questions you may have. Come out and take advantage of this opportunity to speak with the County Attorney, and other public officials and police detective/patrolmen.
