Event Description

Always be yourself, unless you can be a unicorn...then be a unicorn.

Now's your chance to be the mythical, magical creature you always wanted to be! Grab your most fun-loving friends and join us for food, fun, friendship, and a little running, walking, maybe even some frolicking, through the park. With distances up to half marathon on both Saturday AND Sunday, there's something for everyone to enjoy all weekend long.

Both days are super low-key and non-competitive; we'd prefer to race you vs. you. Feel free to run, walk, or prance around; there is no running police here! (We do post results though, so these races qualify for 50 States Half Marathon Club and Half Fanatics.)

There is a 4 hour time limit for all distances. If you think you'll end up taking more than 4 hours, we do offer an optional early start. We don't care if you're fast or if you're slow, we just care that you have a good time!

Your registration fee includes entry into the race distance of your choosing, race swag, finisher medal for all distances, and our usual aid station setup including the full rainbow of Gatorade made from unicorn tears, plain unicorn tears (known to some of you as water), energy gels, salty snacks, sugary candy of all kinds, and fun treats covered in sprinkles, the unicorn way of course! The food doesn't stop when you're done running though! Post race deliciousness includes confetti cupcakes with enough sprinkles to coat the surface of the moon. 

Your entry fee also gets you access to our award-winning crew that will not only ring cowbells but give out high fives and provide unparalleled support. Whether you need a blister taped up or an encouraging hug or some tough love, the heart of any Awesomesauce operation is our race director and staff. This is a great race to nab that distance PR you've always wanted, with a supportive and fun atmosphere that will help you enjoy every mile!

The course is a paved loop at Bill Frederick Park. You will pass the start/finish/aid station area multiple times throughout the race. Wait - what?! We are running in loops? Yep! The beauty of a looped course means that no unicorn is ever alone; everyone gets to party together! This also means you're welcome to leave a drop bag to access your own personal goodies and you can shed layers as you warm up, and you can reapply sunscreen, address any potential issues such as blisters, etc. Due to the nature of this event, there is a strict cap of runners for both days, so we recommend registering EARLY.

Shirts are NOT included in your race fee. We do give out race swag, it's just tradition for Awesomesauce races to give out swag that isn't a shirt. When you register, you'll be asked if you'd like a silicone unicorn mask or a unicorn horn headband! We also have lots of fun shirts available for purchase, and buying them in conjunction with your race registration hooks you up with the lowest available pricing. Any extras will be available for purchase on race day.

Run races on BOTH days and earn a unique unicorn medal for each day PLUS a third medal for being crazy enough to run two days in a row! 

Awesomesauce Events produces low-key, laid-back running events that are focused more about camaraderie instead of competition. Our courses are not certified and not Boston qualifiers, but they are measured accurately and are USATF sanctioned. You won't find mid-race splits or mile markers or bands on every corner or an army of volunteers with their arms outstretched holding drinks just for you. There are plenty of races that are more serious, and we choose to run for fun. We do time our races and the results are posted online, but you will not be timed to the millisecond by chip timing equipment. If these things are important to you, we welcome you to search out other race companies. Our races are more like having a picnic with your friends with some running or walking thrown in for fun. We welcome fun-loving, laid-back, family atmosphere type people who are more worried about having a good time over running absolutely as fast as they can. As with any other race put on by any other company, registration fees and add-on fees are final and are not refundable or transferable for any reason. Prices are subject to change. The races will go on rain or shine.

NOTE: Your registration fee does not include admission to Bill Frederick Park on race day at a rate of $2 per person or $4 per car.
