Event Description
The Wingfoot Winter Running Camp is designed to keep kids active so they don't lose fitness over the winter break.
Mission Statement:
To teach the basic physical and mental skills necessary to achieve success in cross country, track, overall fitness, and personal health
Camp Philosophy:
- Enhance fitness regardless of skill level
- Provide feedback to athletes
- Demonstrate a variety of workouts used to strengthen cardiovascular fitness and speed
- Demonstrate proper warm up and cool down routines
- Educate athletes on appropriate attire and shoes
- Discuss how to avoid common running injuries
- Discuss topics such as dehydration, nutrition,common fears, and anxieties
