Event Description


REACH Foundation's 2019 ShamRock ‘n Run with St. Jude Medical Center benefits the Placentia-Yorba Linda Middle School Track Meet and other REACH Foundation Healthy Lifestyle Initiatives within the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. This fun community wide event is open to the public.

Register by FEB. 17, 2019 (end of day) to take advantage of our EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION pricing, guarantee your 2019 ShamRock 'n Run shirt size and SAVE!

Your registration fee includes an opportunity to select the PYLUSD school of your choice to receive a $5.00 rebate donation.

5K - USATF Certified Course (8AM start) - After the run, cool down in the Leprechaun Lounge and sample treats and refreshments from local restaurants while you wait for the 5K Awards Ceremony.

2K Fun Run/Walk (9:15AM start) - Just over a 1 mile walk through Yorba Regional Park is a great way to support the REACH Foundation. Your 2K registration includes a free Pancake Breakfast.

6:30am to 7:45am - On-Site Late Registration Period

7:00am - Welcome! Flag Ceremony & Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, Live DJ & Entertainment.

8:00am - 5K Race Start Time

8:45am - 5K Race Awards Ceremony - 5K Women’s and Men’s 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Winners Presentation

9:15am - 2K Fun Run/Walk Start Time

11:00am - Event concludes until next year!


Beautiful Yorba Regional Park at 7600 E. La Palma Avenue in Anaheim (located between the Weir Canyon/Yorba Linda Blvd and Imperial Hwy exits off the 91 Freeway). Event activities will be located at West end of the park near the baseball fields.


Registering on-line is the easiest way to ensure your spot in the ShamRock ‘n Run and it is the best way to designate the $5.00 rebate donation of your registration fee to your favorite PYLUSD school.  If you are not affliated with a school, consider our “Kids in Need” fund and your donation will go to a special program to help low income students.


This is a timed 5K run on a USATF certified course.  All 5K participants may cool down in our exclusive Leprechaun Lounge area with complimentary food and refreshments samples from local community restaurants.  Extra hungry? You may also purchase a pancake breakfast for just $3.00 per plate at the time of registration.


Just over a 1 mile run/walk through Yorba Regional Park is a scenic course on a paved surface that has been designed for full participant enjoyment! Each 2K Runner registration includes a complimentary Pancake Breakfast that opens at 7:00am.

Non 2K participants will be able to purchase the same breakfast for a special event price of $3.00 per plate.


Golden State Pancake Breakfast with Kiwanis of Placentia opens at 7:00am. Breakfasts can be paid for during registration process. NOTE: A Pancake Breakfast is INCLUDED in each 2K Registration. Extra Breakfasts maybe purchased for just $3.00.

Enjoy APC Entertainment, Music, fun Kid's Zone games and crafts and informative Community Partner Expo with local businesses supporting our event. All in a beautiful park setting.

Dress for the occasion because we'll be looking for the Best “Luck of the Irish” Costume Contest Winner.  Finally, don't miss the chance to stop by ShamRock ‘n Run Photo Booth for your souvenir photo of the day.


We are expecting a large number of attendees and advise on planning for early arrival, carpooling and/or if local, drop off and pickups.  Parking instructions and map will be posted prior at reach4pylusd.org prior to Packet Pick-Up date. Only participants who come by during Early Packet Pick-Up dates will receive parking pass for Yorba Regional Park.


While strollers, wheelchairs and service dogs are permitted, for guest safety, we ask these groups to start at the back of the lineup for your race.  Bikes, rollerblades, and skateboards are not allowed in the Expo areas or race course at any time.  All other dogs must be on a leash and owners are responsible for picking up after their pets (per park regulations).


The ShamRock ‘n Run event will be held rain or shine.  However, safety is of the utmost concern.  In the event that weather conditions pose a threat, the race and/or government officials reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event or alter the course as deemed necessary.  Unfortunately, should this occur, registration fees cannot be refunded if unsafe weather cancels the race.
