Did you forget and/or mess up on Valentine's Day?
THIS YEAR WE OFFER YOU THE LAST CHANCE for ROMANCE!
SINCE this run /Walk is the weekend after V-Day in February you get to makeup for any little oversight that may have occurred! You can bring your partner, your spouse, your friend, a running buddy...or if you really messed up- just yourself! We just want you to join us.
We start the 3 miler at 10am. If weather and conditions permit we will will have the Free Kids Little Beating Hearts Run at 9:45am.
We will have interesting individual awards for the M&F champions as well as three deep in eight age groups. We will also have 'partner/team' awards by combined age groups.
There will be GREAT FOOD FROM TACO LOCO in Bridgeport - hot soups, chilli, chips, salsa and fluids when you are done.
The first 150 registered will receive great "LAST CHANCE FOR ROMANCE" commemorative mugs & the valentine candy that you earned by running off the related calories! Don’t be the 151st - REGISTER NOW!
We do not give shirts for this event (you get a special race mug and good swag). There are awesome shirts that can be purchased from our online store on this website.
Our 3 mile course is a simple loop with right hand turns. It starts downhill for most of the first mile. The second mile is pretty much flat and quiet. At the start of the third mile there is a good climb for about 3/10 mile (we like to be truthful). BUT that's followed by a flat section and then a solid 2/10 mile downhill as you fly down to our flat finish! Here is our course map: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6765078
If you already have a running partner for the race, you can create a team (you can make up a creative name or just use your last names) and have your partner join it when he or she registers - it will make our job easier on race day! There may also be some folks that would like to partner on race day - you never know!
You can also run or walk this event as an individual- you do NOT need a partner. IF it is a spectacular day (weather wise) and there are any kids (6th grade and under only) we will add on a short distance, non competitive kids fun run.
We will have awards (medals, candy, or whatever fun things we can find) in some form for the men's and women's champion as well as three deep in eight age groups. Team age group awards are computed by adding the two ages - and then we add their times together for the award placement. First place in team age groups get the prize.
PLEASE HELP US RECRUIT PARTICIPANTS! We need a minimum of 125 people to be able to have this event.
We also offer a VIRTUAL Run/Walk for those who can't be physically with us that day- but want to help support the Stratford Police Explorers. VIRTUAL registrants will get the commemorative mug, a run bib, and a finisher's certificate by mail (or you can pick up- we will send details).
Pre reg donation for the run, walk, & virtual event:
$24 for 19 years & over - $20 for 18 years & under. THE RACE PAYS YOUR ONLINE FEE!
Race day fees increase to $28 and $22 respectively. The Kids Little Beating Hearts run is free.
