The Galloway Run/Walk/Run Training Program is open to anyone who is interested in fulfilling a lifetime goal: of running a 5k, half marathon, or marathon. The training group welcomes all levels, from beginners to Boston qualifiers. Pace groups are set up to ensure a comfortable and safe training pace for every ability. Is this group right for me?
Jeff Galloway’s Training Programs are for all levels of runners, from beginning runners to Boston qualifiers. This low-mileage, “injury-free” Training Program is for those who have jobs, families, and a life! We meet on Saturday mornings at 8:00 a.m. at various locations across the Tacoma and Puyallup area for our weekly group runs. We follow Jeff Galloway’s training guidelines to get you safely across the finish line from a 5k to a full marathon, if your goals are to finish or to achieve a “PR”. Our group runs feature walking breaks at regular intervals based on your fitness level. Pace groups (of usually 8-15) are set up according to member’s current fitness level, and a Group Leader is assigned to keep the speed slow enough for all members, and to enforce walk breaks from the beginning to the end. Most of our group runs will be on the many trail systems available to us. These will include Point Defiance Park, Foothills/Orting Trail, Shuster Parkway, Wright Park, River Walk Trail, Chambers Bay, Kent Interurban Trail, and Roegner Park in Auburn. We will avoid running on the roads as much as possible. Running is more fun when running together, as each member is motivated to run more often, and stay injury free. As you share stories and pull one another along, the miles go by much more quickly. Lifelong friendships are formed in these mission-oriented, but laid back groups.

Join us to train for the following events this year. Jeff Galloway 13.1 or Santa Runs Tacoma's Donner and Blitzen 1/2 marathon or The Scrooge 10k.
Training Progam membership does not include race entry fees.
The training fee is non-refundable. Requests for refunds are considered for medical reasons only, must be accompanied by a physician’s letter and must be submitted prior to the half-way point in the training season. A $25 processing fee will be retained. People who want to try out Galloway Training may attend up to two group runs free of charge before registering for the season.
