Event Description

The Triathlon is comprised of a 400 meter serpentine pool swim (Swimmers start one at a time at 10 second intervals and swim the length of the pool in one lane, go under the lane line, and return in the next lane until they have swum the entire width of the pool, one length in each lane), a 12.8 mile bike ride through Schaumburg, and a 5K run in the neighborhoods around the Meineke Center. Event is chip timed. All participants are seeded for their starting position according to to their 400m swim time. Fastest times start earliest, safe passing is allowed, participants must be able to swim the entire 400m without resting.

*Though there are police and race staff spread throughout the course, the course is not a fully closed course. For the safety of our participants, participants not keeping a minimum pace may be removed from the course.

 

The Duathlon is comprised of a 5K run in the Meineke neighborhood, 12.8 mile bike ride through Schaumburg, and a final 5K run in the Meineke neighborhood.

 

All participants will receive a race shirt as well as a finisher's medal.  T-shirts will be available in both men's and women's sizes. All entries are final NO REFUNDS.

PRE-REGISTRATION ENDS WEDNESDAY, JULY 24!!! Race Day Registration for $70 will be available from 5:15-6:15 am on Sunday, July 28th at Meineke Recreation Center.  Please bring a check payable to the Schaumburg Park District.

Adult Age Divisions 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

Awards will be given to the male and female in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place within each age division.

Packet Pickup will be available on Saturday, July 27 (location TBD). Please check back as the event nears. Participants will not be able to receive their timing chips until race morning.

Chip assignment and pick-up, and body marking take place in the Meineke Recreation Center Gym starting at 5:15 am race day. All participants must present their bib in order to receive their timing chip.

 

Overall and age group awards will be handed out at the award ceremony which will begin promptly after the award results are available.
