Event Description

Our run/walk will start and end at the Old Los Angeles Zoo picnic area in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, CA.

The Old Zoo area is a true LA gem.  The site of the Los Angeles Zoo from 1912 to 1965, this area housed elephants, polar bears, camels, and more.  Many of the cages built in the '30s remain standing today.  Be sure to explore these structures while you're here for the run/walk.

Mother’s Day Meso Run is an organization created by a group of friends dedicated to fighting mesothelioma, a rare cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. We are organizing a 5K run/walk for the public in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, to raise awareness about mesothelioma and benefit a registered 501(c)(3) dedicated to mesotheliomia research, a cause that is close to our hearts. We hope to make this an annual get together so that we can help even more to fight against mesothelioma.
