The Mushroom Cap Half Marathon and Relay Event explores Kennett Square's landmarks, unique neighborhoods, and growing commerce while taking runners on a picturesque journey throughout The Mushroom Capital of the world. Participants love racing through the beauty of Kennett Square in November, one of the best times to visit with amazing views and beautiful Fall colors filling the city.
Immediately following, get your celebration on at our Post Race Festival. A Kennett Square experience of local food, libations and music. From the runner swag, to the course, to the themed aid stations... The Mushroom Cap Half Marathon celebrates you!
There is a 3:30 minute (16-minute mile) cutoff time for this race. If your pace falls behind the cutoff, you will be asked to leave the course in the provided safety vehicle. The event is required by city mandate to remove runners that fall behind the allotted cutoff from the course. After this time, aid stations will be closed, police will not be monitoring traffic, roads will be re-opened, making safe passage to the finish very difficult. If you do not feel that you can maintain a 16-minute mile or less over the 13.1 mile course, for your safety, please consider a different event. Perhaps our Relay Event!
